What are the Common Traditional Medicine ITP Treatments?

ITP treatment is determined by the cause and severity of symptoms. If ITP (Immune or Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura) is determined to be caused by a drug, the treatment is simply to discontinue the use of the drug. If infection has occurred, aggressive treatment to control the infection can generally return a normal platelet count.*

In most cases, drugs to alter the way the immune system attacks the platelets are prescribed. This includes corticosteroids and other drugs with potentially harmful side effects. ITP and Pregnancy

In modern medicine, an ITP pregnancy is managed essentially the same as other ITP occurrences except for the use of cytotoxic agents and Spleenectomy. Close monitoring of the platelet count is necessary to indicate the possibility of hemorrhage, especially during childbirth. Concern for the well-being of the fetus is the major focus. What is a Healthy Platelet Count?
